Never Say Never

I have often heard the phrase, "Never say never." But, I haven't experienced the ramifications of that statement until this last week. I always said that I would never want to teach kindergarten. I so admire kindergarten teachers and don't know how they do what they do. But, I have never had the desire to be one.

Well, right before school started again for this second term, our education director received a call that one of the Ugandan teachers would not be returning - the one that was supposed to teach kindergarten while one of our long-term missionaries is helping in Tanzania. So, I was asked to teach the class. It actually works out perfectly with my schedule because I normally teach third grade math in the morning with a Ugandan teacher. So, he can take the full teaching responsibilities for that class while I teach kindergarten language arts. God has been so faithful as this past week went very well. The kindergarten students are fun to work with and are very well behaved. I just have to get used to changing activities every 10 minutes and singing songs ALL the time :) Thanks for your prayers and keep praying as I am now teaching language arts for three different grades (K, 2nd, and 3rd). . . . And, I will stop saying "never."
